It is situated in the heart of the Dinokeng North region, just one hour’s drive from Sandton or Johannesburg International Airport and 30 minutes from Tshwane (Pretoria).
Barbets Nest, a self-catering “bushveld retreat” within the Dinokeng region famous for its sunny and warm blue skies and abundance of plant, animal, and bird life. The lodge is situated in a malaria-free bushveld and is home to various antelope incl. zebra, sable, nyala, bird and plant species. The average temperature throughout the year is a moderate 18 degrees Centigrade. The summer months, between September and April, range in temperature from 16 to 35 degrees Centigrade. Winter is from May through August, with temperatures ranging between 2 and 22 degrees Centigrade. Barbets Nest is a must for serious bird watchers. With over 150 species spotted in our valley.
Game viewing on your doorstep, water holes within a 2 minute walk, beautiful walking trails, birdlife in abundance and all without TV or Wifi.

Recently renovated this enchanting farmhouse surrounded by beautiful lawns, shrubs, and trees, leading off into the natural bushveld.
In the garden is an open plan thatched roof entertainment area with a bar counter and spacious deck seating up to 8 guests. Next to this is a separate open plan lapa with a built-in braai unit, concrete buffet counter and running water. The house has 2 large bedrooms en suite sleeping four guests. A veranda is attached to the main bedroom in fact, all rooms have separate entrances into the gardens. Braai facilities and entertainment area shared between the cottage and farmhouse.
There is a fully stocked spacious open plan kitchen and dining room, the latter seating eight guests comfortably. Off the dining room is a small but elegant and well-appointed lounge which combines as an additional bedroom with the two sleeper couches but not en suite. In total the house may accommodate 6 guests.
